Description: Brendan-kailer lieb was born in pittsburgh pennsylvania. he trained at the pittsburgh playhouse school and at the age of 7 joined the pittsburgh playhouse repertory company. after establishing himself in his home town with back to back seven highly praised performances, he moved to new york where he spent 7 years with the renowned stella adler, and nine years with the legendary uta hagen. during this time, he performed with some of the finest directors and actors in the american theater. he assisted uta hagen with the creation of her book, "a challenge for the actor". he also collaborated with the historic sonja moore, who helped create and introduced the stanislavsky system to the world, in a series of three year private work sessions in her new york home. stella adler invited him on a private scholarship, while studying with her to an invitation only private master class with sir ian mckellen and later with tony winner roger rees. he was invited to study master classes with the national theater of great britain while they performed in new york. brendan has appeared in over 70 professional productions on and off broadway including as a company member of the lion theater company, the classic stage company, where he appeared in the eight hour epic marathon production of "the orestia" ("agamemnon", "elektra", "orestes") (obie award) , "la dispute", "george dandin" and others over two years as a company member. he performed at joseph papp's the new york shakespeare festival where he appeared with academy award winners kevin kline and f. murray abraham in productions of "two gentlemen of verona", "henry v" and richard foreman's "the golem", he created the role of danner in the world premiere of "machine dreams" at hb playwrights foundation, was a company member of the legendary, the circle repertory theater, appeared in director david dunn bauer's highly praised all male production of "the trojan woman", the wooster group theater (as part of "the ingmar bergmann project"), created the role of the prince in "eugene onegin", and created the presenter in leon katz's kabuki acclaimed adaptation of "the golem". at the lincoln center theater company he created alyosha in "the brothers karamazov" and played tristan in "tristan & isolde". on broadway he appeared in "bloomsday on broadway" with dana ivey and jeffrey wright. he also performed in the world premier's of "bravo ny!" and "world without end" both at the at samuel beckett, theater he created the role of drew in "project #2" at the producer's club as well as playing creon in "oedipus rex" (for which the new york post proclaimed his work as, "one of the greatest classical performances in nearly a decade"), and "no trumpets, no drums" (world premiere) both directed by zoë caldwell at the american kaleidoscope theater. he also was a member of soho repertory company and appeared at the mint theater. he recently played the role of william in a new york workshop stage production of "eyes wide shut". other new york work includes jimmy in "a taste of honey" and "a month in the country" both at the roundabout theater, "libertine" and "byron" at circle rep. regional work includes gregory in "love! valour! compassion!", wilfred owen in "not about heroes", michael in "les parents terribles", the man in david hare's "the blue room", the emcee in sam mendes' production of "cabaret", dan in "closer", solonoy in "the three sisters", romeo in "romeo & juliet", joe pitt in "angels in america" (parts one "millennium approaches" and two "perestroika"), walter in "five finger exercise", alan in "equus", marchbanks in "candida" and anthony in "sweeney todd" at theaters including the pittsburgh public theater, pittsburgh playhouse and the heritage theater in new jersey, the new artists coalition, the hartford theater, the chekhov ensemble and leon katz's lab theater and others. on television he appeared in "west side waltz" with oscar winners shirley maclaine, kathy bates and liza minelli for hallmark hall of fame for cbs and a reoccurring role on "silk stalking". his film work includes "milk & money" with calista flockhart, peter boyle and olympia dukakis for rko pictures and as fredric ames in emmy award-winning rich ficara's "lies in love" for east end pictures, " which had its world premiere at the long island film festival, "the beautiful lie..." which is in pre production. mr. lieb has also written three plays. his play "and the rain came down", will have its world premiere in nashville in 2011. he also trained in opera with claudia pinza and was a scholarship recipient at new york city opera. he was also awarded the constance rockwell performing arts award. he appeared at the pittsburgh opera and the pennsylvania opera festival. he is a proud member of the screen actor's guild and actor's equity association and the dramatists guild of america.
